Dr Bruce graduated from Glasgow University 1995, winning the end of year prize in Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine.
From 1996 to 2000 he worked and trained in the hospital based Dental speciality of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His resident postings were in the South West of England in both civilian and mixed civilian/armed force units where as part of a multi-disciplinary team, where he treated everything from wisdom teeth removal and broken facial bones to advanced trauma and cancer cases. He completed his Fellowship in Dental Surgery, from the Royal College of Surgeons in London 1999 in the chosen areas of Oral Surgery Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine.
Upon leaving the hospital service he worked in general dental practices in both England and his native Scotland and was a visiting Specialist Doctor of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery based in Torbay Hospital in Devon. From 2009 until 2015 Dr. Bruce was a senior tutor in implant dentistry at the Dental Implant training Centres in Bristol and Shrewsbury, where he taught the Hands On 10-day Advanced Implant Course as well as the Advanced Sinus Lift Courses. He has been involved in implant dentistry since 2002. He has placed and supervised thousands of implants and works alongside many colleagues as part of a multi-faceted approach to implant surgery.

Dr. Bruce combines the need for implant dentistry with the growing demand for smile design based cosmetic dental procedures. He prides himself in always being at the cusp of new developments in implant dentistry and is enjoying the journey in switching to digital based dentistry and developing his skills in the use of AI and 3D printing in implant dentistry.
His extensive knowledge and experience in implant and cosmetic dentistry ensures that he can offer our patients a comprehensive high standard of care and expertise.

Colin graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009. Since leaving university he has been working in general dental practices and began working in Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic in February 2018.
Over his many years in practice Colin has become proficient in providing comprehensive dental treatment plans. He has a special interest in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry and takes great pride in watching patients grow in confidence as they progress through their treatment.
Colin also enjoys working with anxious and phobic patients. As such, in 2013 he underwent training in the provision of IV sedation and has since logged countless hours restoring smiles using sedation to make patients feel as comfortable as possible.
Always keen to develop and broaden his knowledge and skill set Colin began training in the provision of Facial Aesthetics treatment in 2015 and provides a range of facial rejuvenation treatments to our patients.
Outside of work, Colin enjoys spending time with his family, taking the dogs for walks and is an avid musician.

Myles Gillespie joined Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic in 2023 and has already become popular with patients and colleagues alike. He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2014 and since then, he has gained invaluable experience and honed his skills both locally and abroad. He practiced dentistry in New Zealand for a couple of years before returning to Scotland to continue his career.
Myles has always been passionate about continuous learning and adaptability in his practice. As such, he has pursued various postgraduate courses to ensure he can provide the most up-to-date and efficient treatment options. He recently completed his post graduate diploma in Endodontics and while he holds a broad scope of dental practice, he has a particular interest in root canal therapy, restorative dentistry and clear aligner orthodontics.
Outside of work Myles likes to spend time with his family and enjoys cooking.
Myles is currently registering new patients and also accepts referrals for clear aligners and complex root canal therapy.
Dental Practitioner

Melissa graduated from the University of Glasgow Dental School with her BDS in 2017. During her time there she was chosen for an international exchange programme to Guangzhou in China and received a final year prize for her research in musculoskeletal disorders amongst dental professionals.
Following graduation Melissa worked rurally for a few years and has since relocated back to her home town of Glasgow in 2020 where she now provides comprehensive dentistry. Melissa is also a provider of facial aesthetics and ClearCorrect aligners for teeth straightening, although her particular passion at the moment is restorative and aesthetic dentistry particularly composite fillings, bonding and veneers.
Melissa prides herself on working alongside her patients to achieve the results they desire to a high standard ensuring comfort and happiness throughout treatment. In her spare time Melissa likes to hike, go to the gym, and watch Korean television, and whenever she has a holiday she visits the Philippines!
Dental Hygienist

Yvonne began her career in dentistry in 1995, initially as a nurse but has since gone on to graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University as a Dental Therapist.
Yvonne has worked in many different settings and provides hygiene appointments to patients here at Bothwell Dental Care. She is very focused on prevention and enjoys helping nervous patients overcome their fears.
Dental Hygienist

Anne is a registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 1985.
She first started her career in dentistry in Canniesburn Hospital within the maxillo-facial department and also worked in the oral medicine department of the Western Infirmary. Anne has been an integral part of Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic from the beginning and has looked after our patients’ dental health for over 25 years, getting to know families through the generations.
She treats patients sympathetically and in a gentle manner, taking a holistic approach to their care after gaining her LF Hom in Homeopathy in 2003. Her special area of skill and expertise lies in preparing patients oral health prior to dental implant placement and providing post-implant aftercare for on-going implant maintenance.
Anne is also qualified to carry out in-surgery Zoom Tooth Whitening Procedure which gives our patients a same day whiter smile.
Anne was president of Glasgow Dental Hygienist’s Alummni Association and has a keen interest in keeping up with new procedures and protocols.
At home, Anne loves to read and garden and enjoys spending quality time with her daughter and their horses and other animals.

Kharla studied at University of Sheffield Charles Clifford School of Clinical Dentistry. She graduated in 2010 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy with Distinction and prize for Excellence in Continuing Care. She has worked in various roles within Dentistry for a number of years in both NHS and independent private practice. This has enabled her to expand her experience and knowledge within the industry.
Kharla especially enjoys working with anxious patients to help build their confidence and putting them at ease so they can achieve and maintain a happy healthy smile.
Outside of work Kharla enjoys spending quality time with her partner and their son.
Practice Manager

Christine first joined Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic in 2018, as our Treatment Coordinator & Receptionist, before moving into the Practice Manager role in 2021.
Christine began her career in Dentistry in 2010, initially qualifying as a Dental Nurse before undertaking additional courses in Radiography, Oral Health Improvement, Childsmile and Orthodontics. From there, she gained invaluable experience that allowed her to move on to develop her skills in Treatment Coordination and Practice Management.
Christine is dedicated to delivering an exceptional patient journey, and with the support of wonderful colleagues and Clinicians, will ensure every visitor to the practice is made to feel welcome and looked after.
In her spare time, Christine enjoys spending time with her Husband and two children and is always keen to explore new holiday destinations together.
Senior Dental Nurse/Receptionist

Senior Dental Nurse/Reception SVQ in Oral Health Care (Level 3)
In March 2004 at the age of just 18 Alana joined Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic as a trainee Dental Nurse. She went on to complete her SVQ in Oral Health Care: Dental Nursing City & Guilds in 2007. Now a Senior Dental Nurse, Alana has always shown great organisation skills and is very much a valued member of our team and also with our patients over the years. She helps to maintain the smooth running of the practice and provides all of our patients with a very warm welcome.
Outside of work Alana is busy being a Full Time Mummy to her three beautiful children, her son Jaxon who was born in 2017 followed by twin girls Marley & Mia in 2018.
Senior Dental Nurse

Emma qualified as a dental nurse in 2008 and joined the Bothwell family in February 2010. She has been a committed member of the team for almost a decade and has enjoyed building excellent relationships with our patients over the years.
Since joining our team, Emma has gained a vast amount of experience in all aspects of dentistry and is a friendly, familiar face around the practice. She has the benefit of both a hands-on role in the surgery dental nursing and as Senior Dental Nurse where she keeps things running behind the scenes. Emma has a keen interest in dental implant surgery and works alongside our implant surgeon Mr Kevin Bruce ensuring our patients receive the highest care possible.
Outside of work, Emma loves spending time with her family and socializing with friends.
Dental Nurse

Laura qualified as a dental nurse in 2008, gaining her NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing and VRQ Level 3 Dental Nursing City and Guilds. She joined Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic in December 2009 and as a loyal member of our team has since gained experience in all aspects of dentistry including; dental implants, orthodontics and cosmetic restorative dentistry.
Laura looks after the Health & Safety Procedures within the Practice. She is our Qualified First Aider and Fire Warden making sure we’re all taken care of at work.
When away from work, Laura has a passion for cars, adding a tick to her bucket list by completing the Super Car Driving Experience earlier in the year. She is very family orientated and enjoys holidaying with her partner and two step children. She enjoys keeping active with outdoor activities such as walking, quad biking and go karting.

Taylor joined the Practice in October 2023 and has very easily slot into our Bothwell family! She has become a familiar face to many patients already and her warm and bubbly personality is endearing and infectious.
Taylor began her dental nursing career in 2020, finding her passion for dentistry during her own teeth straightening journey growing up. When she realised how much her confidence grew following a huge smile transformation of her own, she knew she wanted to be part of that journey for others too. She loves to learn and enjoys supporting all Clinicians in the Practice throughout their multiple disciplines. She has a particular interest in cosmetic bonding, implant dentistry and hygiene therapy and aspires to become a Hygiene Therapist in the future.

Rebecca joined Bothwell Dental & Implant Clinic in May 2022, where she began her training to become a Dental Nurse. Rebecca expressed an interest in dentistry from an early age and always aspired to find herself a career within the profession. Rebecca is passionate about helping people. She finds Dental Nursing extremely rewarding and feels a great deal of fulfilment at being able to positively impact our patient’s lives, no matter how big or small. Rebecca is a very popular colleague within our Bothwell Dental team, with her enthusiastic attitude, strong work ethic and friendly manner, you will always be greeted with a smile when you see her around the Practice.
Rebecca successfully achieved her Qualification in 2024 and is excited to continue developing her career in Implant Dentistry and Oral Surgery. She recently completed additional training in First Aid Response and is always on hand to offer support when needed.
In her spare time, Rebecca loves socialising with friends and travelling with her twin sister.
Dental Nurse

Eilidh joined our team in January 2024 after having achieved her Dental Nursing qualification at the end of 2023. Eilidh enjoys all aspects of Dental Nursing but her passion lies in assisting with complex surgical and implant procedures. She finds the most rewarding part of her job is building relationships with patients and seeing their confidence grow as their smiles transform. Eilidh hopes to further her career by training as a Dental Therapist in the future.
Trainee Dental Nurse
Jazz joined our team as a Trainee Dental Nurse in October 2024. Her calm and caring nature makes her a reassuring presence for patients, and she is enjoying learning all aspects of dental nursing. Jazz is excited to continue developing her skills and growing in her new career!
Receptionist

Gemma first joined Bothwell Dental and Implant Clinic in 2021 as our Treatment Coordinator, where she quickly became an integral part of the team. In 2024, she transitioned to the Reception role, continuing to enhance the patient experience.
Gemma began her career in dentistry in 2017, starting with an HNC in dental nursing. She then gained hands-on experience in a practice while completing a Dental Nursing Apprenticeship. Over the years, she has developed her skills, progressing to a Practice Lead position before moving into the administrative side at Bothwell.
At the clinic, Gemma enjoys working closely with patients and supporting them throughout their treatment journeys, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed at every step.
Outside of work, Gemma cherishes quality time with her husband and child, often seeking out sunny holiday destinations for relaxation and family adventures.
